Ontario's New Bail Security-Deposit Rules Temporarily Put on Hold

An Ontario court has temporarily suspended specified provincial security-deposit requirements while it considers a constitutional challenge. The interim order does not decide whether the legislation is unconstitutional and does not eliminate every form of cash deposit available under federal bail law.
